New publication in the Proceedings of the Design4Health Conference

How can speculative design be used in participatory design research to lay bare barriers and conditions for future patient-centered care? We address this  central question in the article “Probing the Future of Participatory Healthcare through Speculative Design”, published in the proceedings of the 6th conference on Design4Health Conference.

In the article we try out a speculative prototype called the Patient Empowerment Kit that is used by a general practitioner to rehearse various kinds of healthcare futures where patients are increasingly being heard and take control of life style changes during illness.

The article is available open access and you can find it in volume 2 together with the complete proceedings here
